SOCIAL WORK

Support Item: Social Work 1:1, Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy or Training (including Assistive Technology) – Social Work
 Provision to a participant of Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy, or Training (including in assistive technology) supports. The support is delivered by a suitably qualified allied health professional registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

SPECIALIST NAVIGATION

SPECIALIST NAVIGATION

NDIS Navigation Ages 7 – 16 years Ages 17 – 65 years WIRU provides Specialist Support Coordination services to ensure the application of support represents evidence based outcomes. Our role includes performing Support Coordination to assist participants in implementing their NDIS plan in a complex service delivery environment. *Also available to Rural & Remote communities upon request, nationwide.

PBS

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) practitioners develop proactive strategies to challenging behaviour. By employing evidence-based approaches, WIRU practitioners collaborate with individuals, their support network, and other professionals to create a safe environment that fosters positive behaviour, improves quality of life, and facilitates personal growth and autonomy. (waitlist Jan 2025)

COUNSELLING

COUNSELLING

Support Item: Employment related assessment &/or Women's Counselling 1:1 Designed to provide 1:1 counselling sessions for adults. WIRU also provides workplace assessment and/or counselling to assist NDIS participants successfully engage in employment. For employment related counselling, this service may benefit participants, for example, who have a disability and need significant support (beyond mainstream employment) to develop a new work pathway.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY

WIRU Allied Health professionals specialise in comprehensive functional capacity assessments. We can help you to identify interests and goals, manage daily routines at home and in the community, modify daily tasks to make them easier to perform, and recommend activities that you can participate effectively in. Our allied health team work with people across the lifespan to provide a range of recommendations when completing a functional capacity assessment.

TELEHEALTH

TELEHEALTH

WIRU can provide Telehealth services if you are living in a rural and remote location of Australia. Support is provided by a Qualified Allied Health Professional with a minimum post graduate qualification and registration with a peak professional body of their chosen field. For counselling support, clinicians are registered with either AASW, AHPRA, ACA or PACFA. If you are seeking counselling supports, rebates may be covered through your private health insurance.

PSYCHOLOGY

PSYCHOLOGY

Our Psychologists provide specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health, behavioural and emotional conditions for people of all ages. For those with an NDIS plan that includes funding for therapeutic supports, our team of psychologists can offer you: Psychological and cognitive assessments Evidence-based psychological management and intervention Counselling.

ART THERAPY

ART THERAPY

Support Item: 1:1 Art Therapy Sessions, Assessment Recommendation & Reports Our services provide a person-centered, strength based therapeutic experience in a safe and nurturing space using creative and expressive therapies to work towards growth and empowerment. Our Art Therapist is a Professional Member with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) and Qualified Teacher.

VOLUNTEERS

VOLUNTEERS

WIRU can connect you with a community engagement liaison who can help determine what path you may need to take based on your goals and challenges. WIRU adopts a human rights approach, advocating for individuals and families collectively to ensure equity in the provision of services. Our volunteers have expertise in human services and collaborate with mainstream agencies and communities to facilitate access to essential connections you may need to thrive in the community.
